Funk-27 is a community-driven platform born out of a love for honest conversation, satire, politics, music, and the kind of piss-taking discourse that hopefully doesn't make you want to throw your phone out the window. Founded by aidThompsin, the project started as a podcast recorded in a shed - and has grown into something much bigger.
We cover everything from current affairs to cultural commentary, dystopian futures to the anomaly of both SHITSTALGIA and Fantasy Nightmares. Our community of BOOJsters spans the globe, united by a shared curiosity and a healthy dose of crushing nihilism. Whether it's a deep dive into far-right flaggers or a lighthearted chat about the state of modern grunge, we bring the same energy and authenticity to every episode.
The name "Funk-27" doesn't mean anything in particular. It just sounded like a cool name for something.
At its core, Funk-27 is a record label for politics / dystopian content. Right now it just promotes me (Aid, HI!) But boasts a patreon, communtiy, meetups, Discord chat - and will expand to promote other content creators of a similar feel.
Our shows cover news, politics, and dystopia — but not in the way you're used to. We don't do hot takes for clicks. We don't shout over each other. We have real conversations with real people, and sometimes those conversations go to unexpected places. That's the beauty of it.
